Julien Cajot is a family business founded in 1967 by Mr. Julien Cajot. Having no successor and wishing to ensure the continuity of his company, he sold his shares in January 2011 to the Giorgetti group.

Located approximately 5 km from the center of Luxembourg, in the industrial zone of Leudelange, Julien Cajot specializes in the production and application of bituminous coatings, also known as asphalt concrete, used for:

Equipment and Machinery

Thanks to a recent and well-maintained fleet of equipment, and its qualified and experienced staff, most of whom have been with the company for many years, Julien Cajot can meet all market needs, both in terms of quality and quantity.

The company has two asphalt mixing plants. The Benninghoven plant, installed in spring 2004, has a capacity of 200 tons per hour. The second plant, renewed in early 2012, with a capacity of 160 tons of asphalt concrete per hour, is equipped with a second drying drum to allow the use of recycled asphalt (recycling).

The machine fleet includes, among others, 8 modern pavers, which allows the company to apply specific processes to cover large widths in a single pass, for example, as required for constructing motorway entrances.

Asphalt, a product to discover!

Asphalt, which is a mixture of stones and bitumen, is manufactured at a temperature of approximately 160 degrees Celsius. Aggregates must therefore be heated to almost 200 degrees, at a rate of 2,000 kilograms per minute.

This condition requires high-performance installations for heating, dust removal, and mixing of the components. To ensure consistent quality of the asphalt mixes, production is controlled daily by the company’s laboratory.

Unlike cement concrete, asphalt retains a certain malleability under traffic, which makes it ideally suited for primary use in road construction.

It is a product perfectly suited for recycling, as its properties depend more on temperature than on time. It is a reusable product that has a very low environmental impact.

Since its creation, Julien Cajot has continuously invested in its plants and manufacturing processes. It has recently been certified according to standard EN 13108-21, ensuring control of its production in compliance with the European CE standard.
