“We had dinner here in the restaurant. If you book a table in the Chalet, you get a different menu. For example, fondue is not possible in the restaurant. For starters, we shared the appetizer platter. The price-performance ratio here is unbeatable. We shared this between the two of us as a starter and it was plenty. There were different types of ham, Bauregeli, gherkins and warm appetizers. For the main course, I had the Tartare de Boeuf. This was finely chopped and well seasoned. The cooking point of the hamburger was as ordered. For dessert, we had a fondant and a creme brulee. You have to wait 15 minutes for the fondant. But it was still liquid in the core. The creme brulee was made with the house beer. You couldn't taste it, but the cream was very silky and not gelatinous at all. We didn't try the house beer. Too bad there is no non-alcoholic option. The atmosphere is bright and in a brewery style. The service was friendly and attentive and also joined in on some jokes.”

“We celebrated a special evening at the BEIERHAASCHT restaurant in Bascharage with about thirty people. The atmosphere of the wooden chalet where we were seated was very pleasant and friendly. However, despite the quality of the dishes, we were disappointed by the service. Only one waiter was in charge of our entire table, which resulted in long delays at every stage of the meal. From the aperitif service to the coffee, the wait was endless. Although this waiter did his best, it was impossible for him to satisfy the needs of 30 guests efficiently. We had to wait a long time for each dish, and some of us had already finished their meal before the side dishes, like the fries, arrived. At one point, my aunt even had to pour more wine for our guests because of the wait. Reinforcement of staff, at least for the main course service, would have been necessary, especially knowing that other waiters were present in another part of the restaurant. In summary, even though the food was good, the organization of the service leaves much to be desired. This ruined a large part of the experience, and several guests left disappointed.”

The sausages were fine, tasted like a typical Bavarian wurst and came with a huge bucket of fries. The paschtéitchen was very bland and flavorless, I really did not enjoy it. It was definitely unappetizing to me. Other than that, I tried the ham croquette which was fine (very strong flavor, but not too overpowering) and the frog legs were alright. The beer was watery and not that good but the cocktail was tasty, I really liked the Hugo. Overall I didn’t enjoy the food at the restaurant, it was very heavy and I wasnt able to finish the plates I got, but the beverages were fine.”

“30 euro horse steak and chips. Offered mayonnaise from a packet they serve you on a hot dog stand. I managed to catch one of the waiters to ask for a recommendation for more food as I was still hungry and they suggested I read the menu. Didn't bring me a menu, just suggested I read one. Eventually a waiter came and I ordered ice-cream. One waiter did translate the menu for me. Thank you. You know who you are. Here's a tip. If some one is alone don't sit them in the middle of the restaurant. They want a quiet spot in the corner to eat quietly.”

During our last visit on a Saturday evening, I ordered the Jambon-Frites-Salade, the large portion. My wife ordered the small one because a few months earlier we had trouble finishing two large portions. Well, how should I put it? We didn't have that problem this time: the small portion was almost ridiculously small and the large one was just about enough with an extra portion of fries. I had to ask for mayonnaise twice: the first portion was only a teaspoon, but the second portion was a monthly ration. It was probably a little revenge from the waitress because I asked twice.
