Ateliers Kraizbierg SIS

Since 1982, the Kräizbierg Foundation has been promoting and strengthening the professional integration of people with disabilities who, because of their skills and needs, are unable to work in the usual working conditions.

Ateliers Kräizbierg s.c. is a cooperative company established in the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg, which operates as an "economic production unit" and complies with the provisions of (1) the law of 12 September 2003 on people with disabilities and (2) the grand-ducal regulation of 23 April 2004 on the government approval to be granted to managers of services for people with disabilities.

The financing of Ateliers Kräizbierg s.c. is the subject of an agreement signed with the Ministry of Labour and Employment. Run as an economic and social enterprise, Ateliers Kräizbierg s.c. offers people with the status of disabled employees and oriented towards sheltered workshops the opportunity to have a paid job adapted to their skills and needs.

The cooperative has developed many services and currently offers disabled employees in various sectors of activity, grouped into four departments:

1) The ADMINISTRATION department, which is responsible for administrative and accounting work

2) The MULTIPRINT department, which includes printing, silkscreen printing, embroidery and multimedia creation.

3) The ARTISANAL & CREATIVE department, which includes gardening, pottery, craft creation and our Bréck store.

4) The SERVICE PROVISIONING department, which provides services to companies and subcontracts activities (packaging, packaging, etc.).

The staff of Ateliers Kräizbierg s.c. is attentive to customers in order to understand their expectations and implement quality means to meet demand.

The staff hired at Kräizbierg Workshops s.c. is composed for the most part of disabled employees paid in accordance with the Act of 12 September 2003 on persons with disabilities, which defines the tasks of sheltered workshops as follows:

to enable persons who have been recognised as disabled employees to exercise a paid professional activity within an economic production unit under conditions adapted to their possibilities; - to promote the access of disabled workers to jobs on the ordinary labour market and to organise for this purpose measures for professional integration, support and monitoring on the ordinary labour market.

The Grand-Ducal Regulation of 23 April 2004 on the government approval to be granted to managers of services for people with disabilities defines protected workshops as follows: "Any service, created and managed by a social and economic organization, that allows people with the recognition of disabled employees and guided by the Commission d'orientation et de reclassement professionnelle, to meet the requirements and constraints of the ordinary labour market is targeted. The purpose of the employment service or "sheltered workshop" is as follows:

- to ensure that disabled employees benefit from the development of their skills, continuous training, suitable jobs and working conditions and measures for professional integration into the ordinary labour market;

- to promote access for disabled employees to the ordinary labour market and organise their professional support and supervision;

- to organise social, educational and therapeutic activities for disabled employees who, because of their disability and/or age, cannot be continuously employed in production activities;

- to set up a production at market value and a commercial approach enabling the latter to be marketed.

"» . Today, Kräizbierg Workshops s.c. welcomes around 100 disabled employees and offers a professional life as close as possible to working in the private sector. The missions are carried out thanks to specialized supervision provided by qualified technical and socio-pedagogical staff. The transdisciplinary approach of craftsmen-technicians, educators-instructors, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, speech therapists, psychologists and doctors makes it possible to identify the skills and needs of each employee, his capacities and limits, in order to be able to strengthen some and bypass others, by adapting workstations and working methods and by offering appropriate socio-pedagogical support.

Our store on the Dudelange site opened in November 2002, a point of sale called "d'Bréck". Much more than a simple store, it is an opening to the general public and a showcase of the various creations made in the Kräizbierg Workshops. This point of sale is open from Monday to Friday.
